About Catherine

As a psychotherapist and counsellor my aim is to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and others, and to help you identify and work towards things that you want to change.  I offer a safe and confidential space in which together we can explore the issues you are struggling with. Using an integrative approach, I draw on a variety of therapeutic models and techniques that are appropriate and relevant to each client. I work with my clients collaboratively and sensitively on issues that have been triggered by recent events or issues that are long-standing.

For the last seven years I have worked with clients in primary care, bereavement support services and private practice, providing long-term and short-term therapy to adults.  Prior to my current therapeutic work I spent several years completing my PhD research on discursive constructions of self and sexualities.
